Approximately, there are 75 tons of soap being discarded annually. It is quite bombastic and also ironic that in many parts of Indonesia, there are still a lot of people who don't have access to soap as a way of keeping a hygienic body. Therefore, when Sealed for Hope sparked the Soap of Hope program, Anantara Bali Uluwatu Resort cooperated with ROLE Foundation immediately took action. The participation in this program is to recycle soap which has been used by hotel guests and distribute it to the poor families in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. This program was first held in the countries of the United Arab Emrates on the cooperation of several hotels, and up until now it has been running in more than 10 countries and 50 hotels. The soap waste is gathered, cleaned, re-shaped, and added some natural fragrances such as lemongrass and jasmine. The soap which has already gone through the process is distributed to nursing home, orphanage, and the poor for free.

  1. I don't believe they just discarded soaps like that! I wish more and more hotels will participate in that program.
