Being a veterinarian in an animal shelter is not always pleasant. A veterinarian in Taiwan (Chien Chih-Cheng) commits suicide due to the stress of animal protection activist pressure. One of her jobs was to euthanize animals (mostly cats and dogs) which are sick, unproductive, or too old. This is strongly opposed by animal rights activists in Taiwan. As a result, she was called "butchers" by the activists. Unable to face the pressure, she ended up injecting herself with the drug. Her death raises pro and cons in the community. Taiwan government reacted to this issue by banning the practice of euthanasia in animal shelters starting on Saturday (04/02/2017). But this will only add problems. One of them is the increasing number of wild animals which will increase the risk of disease.

It's so sad :( I think they don't have to do that :( Even an animal wants a long live :(((( Nice article! :D
